I attempted to decompress a 2.5GB archive… And the system ran out of Swap Space… Clearly, it was trying to do it all in the system memory… It had 9 GB of free disk space… Cute design, just needs to work and it would be great! -Traderhut

.alz format was an archiving format that is favored by a lot of people in the Korean internet community - where ESTsoft and Alzip is from. I dont like alz format either - its compression rate is superior but it just isnt compatible with other softwares and heck, sometimes even with alzip itself. ESTsoft tends to advocate the alz format but I think you should be safer sticking to rar or zip. :)

its doing exactly what it says it does. I needed to extract some .rar files and it did it… quickly.

ALZ and EGG seem to be one of frequently used formats in S. Korea. Many of the compressed files I get from Korean clients tend to be in ALZ or EGG formats, and I must comment on the fact that how blatantly nobody else in the world, including HWP format, uses such compression mechanism. Apart from unique formats, the app itself is far from a universal archive file opener. It only supports few other formats and yet unreliable during the process. The only reason why I decided to download this app is to extract ALZ and EGG files. I’m not certain whether ALZip is serving its purpose as a “compression program,” other than clearing its own mess.

setting encoding to chinese simple, I got unzip files, which I trying at least five app but no encoding right

I’ve been using Alzip on the previous Windows laptop I’ve been using, and was very glad to find this on the appstore. It works brilliantly, and is fast and simple to use.

This app does not support egg file on MAC. WTH? Please fix this bug.

I needed to open .ZAB files. Compressed Audio Book. I renamed to .zip and opened. Nice little interface.

Like more Korean programs there’s never an actual working version for Mac. They just get the program to pop up and say it’s a mac app. You can’t select or deselect any file extensions in preferences. Though EGG is the ONLY one selected, I get an error stating it is not supported.

This is a simple extract app. It worked using the top menu options to extract an .egg file.

Nope. It just doesn’t seem to do anything at all. It just claims “unsupported format” for everything, even though everything I’ve tried is in its list of supported formats. Don’t waste your time. It’s probably a trojan for malware.

Working on zip files I needed something as it changed when I upgraded to El Capitan. I downloaded this and it is working for me.
